CEBF to review new GDP around this month endJuly 15th, 2008 - 9:07 am ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi
The Director of the Center for Economic and Business Forecasting (CEBF), Mr. Thanavath Phonvichai (ธนวรรธน์ พลวิชัย), says CEBF will re-estimate Thailand’s new gross domestic product (GDP) around the end of this month.
Mr. Thanavath insists the new estimation will be made due to the emergence of new factors, including the looming Cabinet reshuffle, the possible interest rate adjustment, and other new negative signals to the global economy.
The CEBF chief further states that at the time being, the current GDP set by the center stands at 5-5.5 percent while inflation rate rises 7 percent.
