Buri Ram declares 11 districts as disaster zone

- Buri Ram province declares 11 districts as disaster-affected zone. The provincial agricultural office speeds up surveying the flood-hit areas before distributing aid to the affected people.
Chief of Buri Ram Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Phornchet Saengthong (พรเชษฐ์ แสงทอง), discloses that many districts of the province have continuous heavy rain since the beginning of the rainy season. The heavy rain has caused flooding in 11 districts, damaging paddy fields and agricultural areas. At the same time, four Tambon in the province have been affected by drought.
Mr Phornchet says the agricultural office will request the provincial disaster mitigation committee to consider providing aid to people affected by the flood condition.
