10 days of the ‘Made in Thailand special 2008 Fair’ at an Exhibition Hall in Muang Thong Thani attracted more than 1,200,000 purchasers in Bangkok and local vicinities. The fair helped relieve the burden of consumers and it could help provide them up to 72 million baht in total savings.

During his visit to the event, the Minister of Commerce, Mr. Chaiya Sasomsab (ไชยา สะสมทรัพย์), disclosed that 10 days of the fair saw an inflow of more than five billion baht in revenue, adding that commodity products appeared to be of great interest among shoppers.

Mr. Chaiya further stated that wooden products, eggs, meat, fruits, auto parts were the best selling goods in the fair. He said especially around 2,500,000 eggs were sold off to consumers during the last 10 days. The results from the fair’s evaluation will be provided by the Cabinet after the fair is over.

The Minister of Commerce emphasized that the price of consumer products will be frozen at the moment to help consumers during the nation’s consumer product price crisis. He also called for the cooperation of entrepreneurs to stabilize prices of all consumer products until the end of the year.
