Army Commander travels to Narathiwat to prepare forces to protect citizens during Ramadan

Army Commander General Anupong Paojinda this morning traveled with his entourage to Narathiwat province to attend a meeting of security forces in the area including the military, police and administrative officials in the Muang district. The meeting evaluated the current situation and insurgent events that took place throughout August and also accounted for problems being experienced by authorities. General Anupong placed emphasis on the upcoming month inwhich Thai-Muslim citizens in the area would be conducting Ramadan, stating that authorities must insure their safety.

The General then traveled to the Thai-Malaysian bridge in Wang (แว้ง) district of the province to meet with army commanders of the Malaysian forces and attend a joint meeting with them.

Latest reports stated that authorities have been able to apprehend another suspect in the Sungai Ko Lok bombing incident which took place on the past 21st. At the moment, officials have been able to apprehend 13 suspects.
