Domestic airlines have cancelled all of their flights for the Bangkok - Hat Yai (กรุงเทพ-หาดใหญ) air route for the second day now, due to People’s Alliance for Democracy demonstrations at Hat Yai Airport.

The Director of Hat Yai Airport, Wing Commander Nat Homasawin (ณัฎฐ์ โหมาศวิน), reports that all domestic airlines have cancelled all their flights, numbering 20, to Hat Yai Airport indefinitely due to security concerns and the inability of passengers to enter the airport due to People’s Alliance for Democracy blockades. PAD demonstrators continue to close roads and terminal entrances at the airport, but have not trespassed into airport buildings.

Local law enforcement have been deployed throughout the airport to maintain order, while Songkhla Governor Sonthi Thechanon (สนธิ เตชานันท์) and Hat Yai Airport officials are negotiating with demonstrators to persuade them to allow the airport to reopen.
