Administrative Court to hold emergency meeting on lottery case todayAugust 18th, 2008 - 4:44 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi
The Administrative Court has today scheduled an emergency hearing upon the request of People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) attorney Suwat Apaisak (สุวัตร อภัยภักดิ์) for the 2-3 digit lottery case involving three current ministers of the government cabinet. Mr. Suwat has asked the court to consider a temporary injunction for the Cabinet decisions for the 29th of July and 5th of August.
The request follows a Supreme Court ruling for the three ministers to cease their activity within the government until the conclusion of the case. The Supreme Court has taken on the case, which has 47 defendants.
Despite the Supreme Court’s ruling and the National Counter Corruption Commission’s regulations for the ministers to cease their role in the government, the Cabinet has requested that a committee clarify the issue first and thus all 3 ministers are still active.
