Additional runner for Bangkok Governor position registers as number 9
September 1st, 2008 - 11:31 am ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiAfter an initial 8 runners drew their lots to become candidates in the Bangkok Governor election this morning at approximately 9:30 AM an additional runner registered to be a candidate. Mr. Wittaya Junkob (วิทยา จังกอบ) was given the running number of 9 as the first 8 candidates had already drawn the numbers 1-8.
Bangkok now has a total of 9 candidates vying for the position of governor. All 9 met with the press once registration closed off before dispersing to begin their campaigns throughout the city.
