3 houses in legislative branch to meet and seek remedy to political situation
September 8th, 2008 - 10:38 am ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiA meeting of 3 legislative branch houses is set to take place today with Senate Speaker Prasopsuk Boondet (ประสพสุข บุญเดช) stating that he will report the meeting’s progress. The 3 houses are expected to meet to discuss solutions to the current political situation. At noon, House Speaker Chai Chidchob (ชัย ชิดชอบ) and his two deputies will meet with various political party members.
Opposition Whip Chairman Sathit Wongnongtoei (สาทิตย์ วงศ์หนองเตย) commented on the planned meeting that no expectations should be set for it as there are many issues entailed by the amtter. He stated however, that if the Coalition government members, the Senate and the House of Representatives are able to find common ground they may be able to decipher a resolution to the situation. Mr. Sathit said that at the very least the meeting would mark the beginning of the remedy process and provide a forum to resolve the ongoing matter, but declined to believe today’s meeting would find a complete solution.
