Thailand Breaks World Record for Largest Mass Massage
August 31st, 2012 - 8:36 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattBangkok, Aug 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Thailand has just broken the world record for the largest mass massages. The country now has a Guinness world record to prove that it is the real massage capital of the world.
641 massage therapists came out to give massages to 641 people in the open. The mass massage lasted for 12 minutes and it got Thailand the honor. The massage took place in an indoor exhibition hall in Bangkok. The event was supposed to promote the Southeast Asia nation’s massage and spa industry and it was organized by the ministry of Public Health.
Thailand’s record broke that of Australia where 263 people were massages for 5 minutes at the same time.
One of the female masseuses at the vent said that it is very easy for them as that is what they do for a living every day.
She says that she is proud of herself and her profession and she is happy because she never thought that they could be recognized in that way. In as much as most of Thailand’s massage parlors are known as places for prostitution, there are massage parlors that are professionals and give all kinds of massage services including aromatherapy. The health minister said that he wants this industry to bring in more revenue.
