The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the private tourism sector of Thailand are jointly organizing a roadshow to attract more foreign tourists in the Asian region to Thailand during the current economic difficulty.
The TAT Governor, Mrs. Pornsiri Manoharn, states that starting from this October, the TAT will lead more than 100 private tourism operators in the kingdom to a roadshow to foreign countries, such as India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan and Korea. She says this roadshow aims to promote hotels, shopping malls, resorts and spas, golf courses and hospitals across Thailand to foreign media. She says the roadshow will be divided into two sections, one for public relations and the other for business negotiations.
Besides this roadshow, Mrs. Pornsiri says the TAT is participating in 74 tourism-related events throughout this year. She says Thailand’s tourism is expected to gain at least 30 billion baht from foreign tourists this year.
