The Planning Bureau director of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), Ms. Anchalee Patthamasawan (อัญชลี ปัทมาสวรรค์), says BMA will submit a proposal to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre in order to list the communities along Chao Phraya River, ranging from Wasukree Royal Pier to Memorial Bridge as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Ms. Anchalee asserts that the communities deserve to be the world heritage site as it was an origin of civilizations in Rattanakosin era till Bangkok nowadays. She says apart from the proposal, the site’s management plan will be lodged with the proposal as well.
To help the site get considered as the world heritage, Ms. Anchalee says BMA with the assistance from the Rao-Rak-Chao Phraya (เรารักษ์เจ้าพระยา) project or transliterated as ‘We Love Chao Phraya River’ and the fund committee for Chao Phraya River Conservation and Revival as will expedite the development of environment around the area.
