YouTube Co-Founder Chad Hurley Steps Down

Oct 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of popular video sharing website YouTube is stepping down from his post, the San Bruno, Calif., company announced the news on Friday. Even Chad Hurley spoke about his stepping down on a press conference last Thursday where he expressed his desire to play the advisory role in the company. However, the company has announced that the former CEO will be replaced by the vice president of Google web applications, Salar Kamangar.
Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim launched YouTube on 2005, which is now one of the most popular web portals where the users can even download snippets form movies, songs, television programs etc. However, it seems that the former CEO wants to explore his other responsibility as well. YouTube released a statement on behalf of Chad Hurley where the former CEO stated that for the past two years, he had taken on more “advisory role” of the company and Salar Kamangar had looked after the day to day activities of the company. However, he mentioned that he would continue to serve YouTube as one of its advisors.
Chad Hurley said in his statement that he is excited to witness the new “growth” of YouTube in its next phase. While speaking about the new CEO Chad Hurley said that Salar Kamangar is someone who will be able to carry on and respect the post of CEO with sincerity and devotion. YouTube sold their old stat-ups to Google in 2006. However, despite the merge, the company never faced any adverse condition. After merger the three founders of the company looked after improving interaction with the users and improving the designs.
