July 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) YouTube has been hacked by a user named ‘ebaumsworld’, who has placed malicious links at the comment area. The result of the links being posted is that the users are being redirected by the website or else opening unwanted pop-ups. This can also lead to user’s computers acquiring a virus. YouTube is presently trying solve the problem by blocking the malicious comments and the misuse of the comment area.
‘Ebaumsworld’ comments have started from the Justin Bieber videos where malicious and disturbing comments were made about the star. The posted links on the website also leads to some disturbing pop-ups that are a potential virus threat for the computers. It is common for people to place links in comment area but in case of YouTube, the attack by ‘ebaumsworld’ has gone completely out of control.
Several YouTube videos throughout the web have been affected by the posted links. Another member who has claimed responsibility for the spreading of the malicious comments is 4chan. Rumors and derogatory links have been a common phenomenon for stars like Justin Bieber in recent times. YouTube is hoping that the problem will be solved within one day.
Users who are at risk from the virus should protect their PCs with anti-virus software and also try avoid clicking on unknown links. They should also block the pop-ups from unreliable websites. The YouTube users should ensure that the comments are turned off so that there is no chance of the computer acquiring the virus through the links and comments that are posted in the comment area by ‘ebaumsworld’, ‘4chan’ or any other agent.
