www.msn.com is down
March 26th, 2010 - 12:18 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattRedmond, Mar 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After Wikipedia and Youtube now it is the turn of www.msn.com to suffer an outage. The site has been down since the last 35 minutes. When users log onto the site then they are greeted by a pristine white blank page. After repeated refreshing ‘The requested page is not available’ is sometimes seen. Even though msn.com is suffering an outage, its sister concern – the search engine Bing.com is functioning properly.
Yesterday the world’s greatest online encyclopedia – Wikipedia was down for quite some time. And the most surprising bit is that, it was working fine for some users, whereas it was down for the others. The users for which it is not working got the message ‘Server Not Found.’
And today the famous site for videos – YouTube.com also suffered an outage. When the users were trying to open www.youtube.com then they are greeted with “Http/1.1 Service Unavailable”. However the whole site was not down, as the embedded videos pages and the individual video pages were working fine. The search pages were working fine too. But the user pages and channel pages experienced downtime.
UPDATE 1:23pm (EST) : www.msn.com is up online again. As per out observation it was down for at least 50 minutes
