London, May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Katy McCaffrey lost her iPhone during a Disney cruise holiday. She was later able to trace the iPhone and identify the alleged thief after he mistakenly sent the photos he had taken using her phone.

The suspected thief took photos using the phone and uploaded the images by mistake to the iCloud account of the phone’s owner. He then posted a string of the pictures on a Facebook album titled Stolen iPhone Adventures.

The photographs showed the suspect, a Disney Cruises liner crew member, engaging in nights out with other employees of the liner. He also took photographs of his pregnant partner, another crew member.

McCaffrey lost her phone in April, and she identified the alleged thief after reading his name on his uniform’s tag in one of the photographs taken by the suspect, who is now on administrative leave. His employers’ spokesman has stated that the iPhone will be returned to its owner when the cruises ship returns to port.

The phone’s iCloud allows phone users to store data, including pictures and music on a remote computer server. In addition, users are able to track the iPhone’s location as the phone features GPS technology.
