Windows 7 Phone Unveiled By Microsoft!

Oct 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After much anticipation and wait Microsoft the Redmond based software and technology giant took the wraps off the Windows Phone 7 and the event hogged media attention as expected. Microsoft rules the OS and office suite segment with its flagship Windows OS and Ms office suite respectively, but it has not succeeded that much in hardware front so far. Except in gaming its attempts at launching gadgets have not succeeded much. It now wants to garb a pie of the ever expansing smart phone segment, where its arch rivals, namely Google and Apple have made successful invasions. However, matching the popularity of the iPhone and android based sets would be an uphill task for Microsoft as the tech industry veterans have said.
Microsoft is willing to make foray into smart phones as the need of web access on the move has gone up among users. The company is saying that the windows 7 phone will offer the users a new experience which they have not got so far. The home screen of the phone will not have widgets. It will have powerful hardware. The CPU and camera would be its strong points. The phone will be made by manufacturers like Dell, LG, HTC and Samsung. The phone will be launched by carriers like AT&T and T mobile in the USA. Verizon may also offer it for its users.
The Windows phone 7 will be gaming centric as Microsoft has clearly hinted. The phone will also come with mobile versions of MS Office and IE. However, it remains to be seen how the smart phone app developers warm up to the phone.
