Jan 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Excitement around the press conference that Verizon is going to hold on Tuesday is on the rise and the tech rumor sites are bullish on the possibility of the CDMA service provider launching iPhone 4. The Verizon iPhone rumor had been doing the round in the tech circles but this time there are strong indications of the buzz turning into reality. Verizon has not officially admitted that it will reveal iPhone’s release date on Tuesday’s mega event but given the fact that its COO will be present at the event, the announcement is going to be a grand one! The Cupertino based technology behemoth Giant Apple has also remained mum over the subject but industry insiders say that it is also preparing for an announcement.

The geeks have started predicting whether this will snatch a huge number of customers from AT&T which has an exclusive agreement with Apple to sell iPhone on its network in United States. The agreement is possibly going to be over soon. The industry veterans think that Verizon will get the chance to expand its user base for sure but AT&T’s dominance over iPhone will not be over soon. Some customers will remain with it for their contracts. Besides, it uses GSM standard and Verizon uses CDMA technology and hence the switchover may take some time for the customers.

There is no denying that Verizon beats AT&T hands down in terms of network coverage but once the number of iPhone users are added to its network it may not remain so. Apple will be in a winning proposition as one can understand. Other rival networks like T Mobile and Sprint Nextel will surely feel the pinch.
