Users Restless As Tumblr Remains Down For Hours

Dec 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tumblr has been down for hours now and it looks like the users are not liking it anymore. The micro-blogging platform took to Twitter to address the bloggers and said that it is working on the problem and is expecting the platform to restore very soon. The website has been down for several hours now and the company has confirmed that it is due ti a major issue in one of their databases.
The problem can be a major setback for the blogging platform as it is still in its growing stages. This is also not the first time that the problem has occurred and it seems like the users are quite upset. One user posted on another blog that he was wondering whether it was in his system or the entire platform was down for a solid 15% of the time. Tumblr as asked the users to contact the support of the website if the problem persists after several attempts. Presently, the users trying to log in are either getting an error message or a server overload one. In some places even the homepage says ‘We’ll be back shortly’. Tumblr has also apologized to the users for the inconvenience.
Tumblr was founded in 2007 by David Karp. The website has been developed by Marco Arment. With more than 3 million users, Tumblr is one of the world’s favorite blogging platforms. IN 2009 Tumblr also launched its iPhone app which added to its popularity. This year the website announced that they were developing a feature that would allow the users to upload videos directly from their machines without the help of another platform.
