San Francisco, May 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The social networking and the micro blogging site Twitter has currently set the ‘Following’ and ‘Followers’ count for all users to 0.
This follows after a bug was discovered which enabled users with malicious intent to “force” other users to follow them.
Twitter which has had its fair share of bugs and downtimes released the following message on its status blog at about 10:12am PST:-
“We identified and resolved a bug that permitted a user to “force” other users to follow them. We’re now working to rollback all abuse of the bug that took place. Follower/following numbers are currently at 0; we’re aware and this too should shortly be resolved.
Update (10:18 AM PST): Of note: protected updates did not become public as a result of this bug.“
