369851Tokyo, June 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Like all other major nations of the world which have happily embraced social networking as a part of their daily life, Japan too is falling a prey to the “oh-so-addictive” world of Twitter and Facebook. As a matter of fact, Twitter which happens to be a micro blogging site has gained immense popularity in Japan.

Technologically savvy as the Japanese are known to be, they seems to be engrossed in their new found love. So what made the Japanese put their stamp of approval for Twitter over Facebook and others? Some say it’s the cute little name which the Japanese are fond of while some say it’s the innovative concept of expressing yourself through small “Tweets”.

As per the statistics goes, more than 16.3 percent of the Japanese loves Twitter over 9.8 percent of people in America. As a matter of fact, Twitter was first launched in Japan way back in the year of 2008 when it managed to grab the attention of the youth. However it was in the last year when Twitter for mobile was launched in Japan which went ahead to capture the minds of adults as well.

Since then Twitter in a way has entered the mainframe of the Japanese life. It is being shown on television channels, students and teachers they both use it and as the latest addition the celebrities in the country have started using it. Clearly enough the popularity charts for Twitter are even bigger than Facebook in America and there’s no doubt that Jack Dorsey’s innovative concept has found a permanent place in Japanese hearts.
