Twitter Confusion Leaves Celebrities Puzzled

twitter-logo-002May 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a recent development, the popular micro blogging site Twitter got hacked by a Turkish hacker who succeeded in creating security glitch that resulted in many users with zero followers. A number of celebrities who have thousands of followers on Twitter were also left without any follower. The glitch was finally fixed on Monday. It allowed a Twitter user to compel another to follow them without seeking permission. The high profile Twitter users like Canadian teenage pop singer Justin Bieber, talk show host Oprah Winfrey, Hollywood couple Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher were also affected by this mishap. Twitter embarked into damage control mode swiftly after getting the loads of complaints from the users but its measures left most of the users without a single follower which made them baffled.

The spammers also utilized this opportunity to their benefits. The trick was found by the Turkish hacker by accident. Using it any user can force other to follow him on the site. The celebrities were prompt to react when they saw they did not have any Twitter fans visible. Justin Bieber mockingly wrote he had lost his popularity as he could not see any fan in his account. Actor Ashton Kutcher also confirmed that he could not see any follower in his account. Kim Kardashian also expressed her amazement on the issue.

Twitter based in San Francisco later reported that its team has been able to solve the issue. Barack Obama, the President of the USA is also a fan of Twitter and so is the wife of Gordon Brown. However; their twitter accounts were not hacked.
