toshiba-cell-regza-xe2Aug 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is nothing new about 3D TVs for the consumers. By now almost every major electronics giant has launched the 3D TVs. They boast of cutting edge features and of course their USP is the added dimension that makes the distinction between real and virtual blurred. However, it seems that Toshiba will give its rivals a run for their money with its upcoming series of HDTVs that do not require the viewers to wear 3D glasses. So far the 3DTvs that are being sold in the market are shipped with special 3D glasses. Sometimes the buyers have to buy the glasses separately. Without the glasses the contents appear two dimensional to a viewer. However, a lot of viewers find the idea of wearing glasses for long hours to view the content is boring. They will be delighted with this development.

Presently Toshiba sells its Regza series of HDTVs in the market. The Tokyo based company recently said that it is working on the technology that will allow the viewers to view contents in 3D without using special funny looking glasses. It is not known when the new breed of Toshiba LCD 3D TVs will hit the stores but it could be by the end of the year. Yuko Sugahara a spokesperson for Toshiba admitted that the company plans to launch the 3DTV in the market soon. Manufacturers like LG and Samsung that already sell conventional 3DTvs have not reacted on the issue so far.

There is no doubt that the new range of Toshiba HDTVs will lure the viewers. However, more channels will have to embrace 3D so that people can get more content.
