Tony Hawk Ride goes to Wii, PS3, 360May 15th, 2009 - 7:56 pm ICT by GD
Activision has revealed the latest Tony Hawk game called Tony Hawk: Ride and it is to be made available on all the present generation home gaming consoles of PS3, xBox 360 and Wii. The game takes advantages of a brand new, and not to mention, really cool skateboard peripherals. The game comes after a year’s hiatus and is the tenth offering from the makers. Also, this is the second peripheral-based games that Activision released in the last few weeks; the first was DJ Hero.
Skateboarder Tony Hawk had wanted to release a skateboard peripheral based game for a long time now, but it was possible only recently to create a technology that would actually make this possible. When asked about how good he is at Tony Hawk: Ride, he said he was already rather good and that skateboarders in real life will find it easy too. You have to stand on the skateboard peripheral to play and even those with little or no balancing expertise will be able to play the game because it has multiple levels of difficulty that are easy to adapt to.
The skateboard used as a peripheral in Tony Hawk: Ride is actually a motion-based controller on which players have to twist and turn to play the game. Tony Hawk himself demonstrated the game on the latest episode of Spike’s GameTrailers TV alongside a promo on the GameTrailers website.
The Tony Hawk: Ride with its cool skateboard peripheral was revealed on GameTrailer’s TV show on Thursday night with Geoff Keighley. It will also run an online footage of the game sometime in the near future.
