Study reveals that 1 in 3 Facebook users are getting bored with the site
June 8th, 2012 - 7:24 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, June 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to the findings of the survey recently released by Reuters and carried out in conjunction with the research firm Ipsos, approximately one-third of all Facebook users are getting increasingly bored with the social network site.
The poll also showed that this sentiment seems to be growing. More than 1,000 Americans took part in the poll. Approximately 80% of all Facebook users have never purchased a product or service after reading a testimonial or adverts in the site. Therefore, the advertising techniques that business enterprises are using seem to be highly ineffective.
The poll found that Facebook users between the ages of 18 and 34 are the most active. “Facebook fatigue” seems to be spreading among this group, leading them to spend less and less time browsing the site and interacting with other members. Just 29% of all users over 55 considered themselves as regular users of the site.
Since its creation in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and a group of his friends, Facebook has changed the way in which millions of people use the Internet to interact with each other. However, the journey for Facebook has not been easy.
The site has had problems with authorities of various countries around the world, being blocked in China, Iran and other countries.
