July 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Steve Jobs tried to put up a brave face at the iPhone 4 Press conference that took place today at the Cupertino headquarters of Apple Inc. Everyone was expecting that he would announce a software patch to fix the much debated iPhone 4 signal reception issue. However, he did not announce any update to the iPhone OS. Neither did he talk about any possibility of the iPhone being sold by Verizon in the near future. He offered a cover for free to the buyers of the phone which will address the issue, well, apparently.
He went on to say that the numbers of users who are not happy with the performances of the iPhone are insignificant. To further illustrate his point he pointed out that signal reception is an issue that is faced by the smart phones from the manufacturers too. The Blackberry and Samsung Smartphone users also suffer from signal reception, he pointed out. He began the conference with a 15 minute presentation. The CEO also criticized a report that had claimed earlier that Apple was aware about this signal blockage problem.
The free bumper will be given to the iPhone customers till the end of September and this means some users may miss them. The reactions to the press conference are still pouring in and the users are now willing to try if the quick fix offered by Steve Jobs is effective or not. Despite its flaws, the iPhone 4 continues to be one of the most sought after gadgets. It has sold in record numbers in the USA and the sales is still going strong.
