New York, Jun 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sony is all set to recall over 535,000 Vaio laptops, which are capable of overheating so much that they even burn the user.

The company officials disclosed that there is an inherent glitch in the heating control system of the machine, which can in turn cause the laptop to overheat. And apparently the laptop can overheat to the extent, that even its shape can be distorted. This excess heat can also cause burn injuries to the users, so the company had no choice but to enforce a recall. According to reports, the inherent problem is with the heat management system in the BIOS.

The affected models of the recall are the F and the C series Vaios that have been sold since January 2009. These overheating machines were basically sold in the US, Europe and Asia. The recall is primarily going to affect US because out of the 535,000 recalled laptops, around 50% were sold in the US only.

The company was forced to announce the voluntary recall, because there were faced with around 40 complaints about the overheating laptops so far. However this is not a new problem for Sony. In the past too, Sony was forced to recall 400,000 laptops in 2008, for the same reason.
