ttrDec 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It looks like the craze for the motion controlled enabled gaming devices is touching an all time high. The Christmas season is ahead and the gamers are buying the motion gaming devices like crazy. Sony which has a pie of the console market thanks to its PlayStation series of consoles recently said in a press release that its much touted PlayStation Move motion control system is selling in record quantities in various countries. As per the claim of the Japanese giant the device has sold in 4.1 million units so far. It was launched with much fanfare in September this year. The move can be bought as a smaller bundle where the customer gets a controller along with PlayStation Eye camera as well as a copy of Sports Champions. This bundle comes at $100.

Apart from that there is a PlayStation 3 bundle which offers a 320 GB console at $400. The Move controller resembles a wand. Interestingly the announcement of Sony comes just after rival Microsoft said that it sold 2.5million copies of its Kinect motion sensor devices since its launch in November. Not to be left behind, Nintendo declared this week that 600000 Wii consoles were sold in the week of Thanksgiving and Black Friday. The Wii has always been a strong seller since its debut though.

The sales of Sony PlayStation Move is expected to be on the higher side as the company will release a number of titles next year. Even though the craze of motion sensing based games was started by Wii, the release of Kinect from Microsoft and Sony’s Move have overshadowed it to an extent.
