Sony Play Station PhoneOct 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Finally after much speculation the images of the so called Sony PlayStation Phone have emerged in the web. Sony is yet to announce it officially though. The photos that have appeared in a number of tech websites do seem to be authentic and it is perhaps only a matter of time for Sony to make an official announcement. The photos reveal that the handset has slider controls like the PSP and it runs Android OS. The photos of the upcoming handset are somewhat similar to the Sony Ericsson Xperia 10 model that also has Android in its core.

So is it a modified version of the Xperia? It may not be so because Sony wants to keep the Xperia lineup separate from its other upcoming and existing models of phones. The photos also reveal that the upcoming model has a slider form factor. When a user pushes up the slider the gaming controls are revealed. The tech sites also say that the phone is likely to have impressive hardware specifications. It will possibly have a snappy 1 GHz Qualcomm CPU with 512 MB RAM. Sony has finally decided to do away with its old time Memory Stick and opted for a more popular MicroSD slot for offering external storage. It is a useful addition.

The Display of the phone seems to be large with almost 4 inch screen size. It has two cameras like most of the smart phones today. The main camera at the back probably has a Xenon flash while the front VGA camera is meant for video calling. Most likely it will be shipped with the much awaited Android 3.0 Gingerbread OS next year. The pricing of the phone is yet to be known.
