“Shadow Complex”: Reliving Old School Action

“Shadow Complex” is a game that takes the user back to the long fazed out story about how a common man is drawn in to a messy situation from which he has to crawl out and in the process save the nation and uphold justice.
The focal character of the storyline goes by the name of Jason, who stumbles upon a plot hatched to overthrow the US government, while on a hike in to the woods. His girlfriend lands up in the clutches of the wrong doers and it falls on Jason’s big brawny shoulders to rescue her and the whole nation from the villains.
The game progresses quite fast considering the fact that it is a downloadable game. However, the general verdict has been that by the time one reaches the end of the very vast plot, the various labyrinths are still left in the dark. Music is almost absent from the core play of the game and when it comes, it is not usually a score that gets one excited. Also, the voice over is generally exaggerated for the most part.
“Shadow Complex” is a part of Xbox summer arcade push and anyone looking for an old school action play with minimal expectations can surely enjoy the game. The game is a product of the Chair Entertainment and Epic Games (the very team that produces the “Gears of War” series).
Even though being a downloadable game, “Shadow Complex” stands out prominently in its graphic detailing and almost seems flawless at most parts. There are four difficulty levels as the user makes his way through the various paths to reach the underground bunker.
