samsung transform The much awaited Samsung Transform is going to be sold on Sprint’s network starting October 10th as it has been reported. Samsung has been coming up with a plethora of Android based models in recent times and most of them have got favorable reviews. The gadget freaks might be a tad disheartened to know that the much awaited Transform will not ship with the latest 2.2 Android Froyo OS. Instead of that the model will be sold with the Android 2.1 Eclair OS. Samsung on its part has not said why it would be omitting Froyo but added that the update will be made available to the customers by year end.

This is rather disheartening considering the fact that a number of other smart-phones including some from LG are sporting Froyo already. The Transform is a pretty decent and powerful phone with a generous 3.5 inch HVGA touch screen which has a resolution of 480×320. The screen is of resistive type but it is bright and can be seen in bright sunlight without much problem. The camera is average on the imaging front since it comes with a 3.2 MP camera. This is rather average since a lot of smart phones these days ship with 5 MP camera and higher. However, the model has a front facing VGA cam for video calling. The email freaks would love its slider QWERTY keyboard.

The interested lot can buy the Samsung Transform from the Sprint retail stores and online. The price has been set at $149.99 post a $100 mail-in discount. The set comes with a two year contract.
