Russian police free software tycoon’s son

MOSCOW (BNO NEWS) — Russian police said Sunday they freed a young man who was abducted and arrested five suspects, RIA Novosti reported.

Ivan Kaspersky, the son of Russian software tycoon Yevgeny Kaspersky, was abducted on Tuesday while on his way to a firm where he was doing work experience as a computer programmer.

“The Moscow police together with the Federal Security Service and riot police have recovered Kaspersky’s son in the Moscow Region,” police spokesman Viktor Biryukov said on Sunday.

Media reports said the kidnappers were demanding more than 4 million dollars in ransom. The elder Kaspersky, who is the CEO of global digital security company Kaspersky Labs, is estimated to be the 125th richest man in Russia with a $0.8 billion fortune.
