Tokyo, Feb 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Everything is going towards the robotic way in Japan. The first ever robot marathon is being held in the tech-loving country.

Several robots entered the competition. Robot makers, scientists, schools and others brought their robots to the event which is organized by local officials at Osaka.

According to the tech website CNET, the machines would be circling around the room in tracks. They would make 423 circuits on the track which represents 26.2 mile marathon. The challenge is for the robots to complete the race in the quickest time with very little intervention from humans.

Humans can only come in to change and recharge batteries during the race. However when a robot falls over or is knocked down, the machine is expected to get back on its ‘feet’ again all by itself. Some experts at the race believe that it is not the fastest robot that will win the marathon but the strongest.

The marathon is organized by the robot maker Vstone and it is supported by the local government officials at Osaka.

Japan loves its robots. The country has been a strong force behind the advancement of robotic technologies. The world was shocked when the first robot actress was unveiled by the country.
