palmNov. 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Palm Pixi smart-phone now comes with a thinner price tag, with some of the companies offering discount prices less than a month after the phone was launched in the market by Palm. The phone, a pricier and trendier one than it’s predecessor, the Palm Pre, was aimed by the creators toward a younger market. The price cut has been a rather jarring move for Palm, considering that the companies are offering huge rebates. For example, Sprint offers a discount after which the phones price slashes to a mere 100 dollars. On the other hand, Amazon offers the phone at 25 dollars.

The Palm Pixi comes with a handful of features. It comes enabled with the Palm Synergy feature, simplified, which means that it enlists all the related information and presents them together. The Application catalogue presents a list of the items that can be downloaded, many of which are already integrated with the other applications in the phone. The Palm Pixi also enables one to keep many applications open at once. Along with that, there is the usual Mp3 and the unique ‘Linked Contact” option that enables the user to combine all the information about a person under one title.

The price slash of the phone does not come as much of a surprise, given that this, like the other recent Palm phones, have seen great reviews but not equal sales, mostly due to the exorbitant price tag that they come attached with. However, the reduced price is likely to affect Palm’s price potential. A spokesperson for the company said that they do not have any say in what discount the independent retailers offer on the phones.
