Paul Ceglia alleges that he owns 50% of Facebook
April 13th, 2011 - 9:37 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, April 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has been sued by a former wood-pellet salesman. Paul Ceglia is claiming that he has an arrangement with Zuckerberg that entitles him to 50 percent of all the proceeds from the company.
Ceglia has made available email correspondence which he claims is between him and Zuckerberg. The emails have been published on the Internet and Ceglia claims that they prove that he indeed entered into an agreement with Zuckerberg back in 2003 to get half of Facebook. He explained that when he entered into the agreement with Zuckerberg, the organization was then called “the face book.”
Zuckerberg’s lawyers have rubbished the claims by Ceglia. They claim that the documents that have been provided by Ceglia are fake and forged. During an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the law firm representing Facebook, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher called the lawsuit “fraudulent” saying Ceglia is a convicted felon. Orin Snyder of the firm said that they still maintain that the claims by Ceglia are ridiculous and the new evidence brought up does not change that view.
Ceglia had previously sued Facebook in July last year. He is represented by the law firm DLA Piper.
