Packet8Jan 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Internet has become almost indispensable for most people and whenever any online service goes down for some time, the users feel confused and baffled. That explains why the users of Packet8 VOIP service felt helpless when it went down. The VOIP service called 8×8 is facing massive server problems. The web sites of the company are also inaccessible, owing to server overload. The baffled users have already started writing in their social networking accounts about the issue. Many of them have written that the reason of this service outage is not clear and they would like the service to be restored.

The service went down a few hours back. The majority of Packet8 VOIP service users are business customers while only one third of the user base is residential. Reports from places like New Jersey, Greenville NC, and Colorado have started pouring in about the service being inaccessible. However, Packet 8 is not sitting idle. It has already started probing the matter and wants to restore it in the shortest possible time. The service provider has expressed its regret to the users for the inconvenience they have been put in.

The service provider suffered from a DNS issue last year. In its statement, Packet8 has reported that the problem has been caused by an IP problem with its underlying careers. The Internet providers that have been affected by the issue include AT&T, Roadrunner, Comcast and Cox. It has also informed the users by the update that the efforts are on to resolve the problem. Hopefully, the service will be back soon.
