Mountain View, Apr 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Google had launched real-time search in December 2009, where people could search what people were saying about that topic on Twitter. Then they added MySpace, Facebook and Buzz also onto the real-time search, so that people could search about a particular topic, on all the popular microblogging mediums such as Facebook, Buzz and Twitter. Now they are going a step ahead with the launch of the replay feature, which helps the users to search the archives of the popular microblogging and social networking site Twitter too.

Google specified that it is incorporating the new feature, as microblogging has changed the information scenario in a lot many ways. They felt that the 140-word tweets reflect the changing times, and form a ‘sort-of’ commentary about any world event. Hence they felt that the Twitter archives should also be searchable, so that any person who is going through them can get an idea about the whole event, and also see different perspectives of the event too, as tweets are from random people, who have their own world-view.

According to an official blog post by Dylan Casey, Product Manager for Real-Time Search, “With the advent of blogs and micro-blogs, there’s a constant online conversation about breaking news, people and places — some famous and some local. Tweets and other short-form updates create a history of commentary that can provide valuable insights into what’s happened and how people have reacted. We want to give you a way to search across this information and make it useful.”

They also said that the Replay feature would be launched globally in a few days, but for trial purpose, it is available at http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbo=1&esrch=RTReplay&tbs=mbl%3A1&q=pamela+anderson&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
