Dec.10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Motorola, the US mobile phone and accessory maker which was considered almost defunct by the industry insiders, staged a successful comeback with its Android based smart phone Droid. Launched in USA by Verizon wireless, the Droid has generated enough buzz among the users and it has been selling like hot cakes since its launch. The phone was dubbed as an iPhone killer and Verizon mocked rival AT&T and Apple for the inadequacies of the latter. However, the Droid had some minor drawbacks which were reported by the users shortly. To iron out these issues, Verizon has come up with an update for the Droid.

The new update for Droid has 14 enhancements. It will resolve the camera and sound issues of the device. Verizon said on its part that the update will be available for a week. The Verizon web site has the details about the update on Droid. As with any high end phone, certain software issue can cripple its performance and these are generally fixed with software updates rather than hardware changes. It is good that Verizon is introducing the update soon after Droid’s release and the users will appreciate this move. Focusing the camera in Droid used to be a little slow and with this update this will be solved. This small glitches apart, the Droid is a sturdy phone that delivers on all grounds.

The Droid has got good initial response from both the users and industry experts. Challenging the iPhone is no easy job but with this update, Droid will emerge as a strong contender to Apple’s cult phone.
