Mobile world congress 2011

Barcelona, Feb 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Mobile World Congress 2011 is underway in the Spanish city of Barcelona.

The congress opened on Monday and as expected several top-notched technologies were on display. Some 50,000 leading mobile officials are expected at the congress which will be come to a close on the 17th of February.

Top phone companies have all converged at the congress to showcase the latest technology that they have in their products. About 200 companies are expected to showcase their devices at the congress.

One such device was introduced by Smart Communications. The company showcased its latest “Netphone”. According to the company, the phone was designed for the emerging smartphone market in mind. The phone runs on the latest Android, Froyo. The phone has several features and allows developers to easily and conveniently create applications for the device.

A statement released by the company said that, “With the NetPhone, Smart can rapidly deploy new widgets, applications and services over the air, continually enhance the Netphone’s value to our subscribers, and in the process create healthy revenue streams.”

The phone is expected to compete directly with Blackberry when it is eventually released later in the year.
