McAfee Anti Virus Update Upsets Working Professionals

San Francisco, Apr 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Windows XP SP3 users were reported to have witnessed a peculiar kind of faulty update for McAfee Antivirus installed on their system. Reportedly, it all started on Wednesday, when several working professionals reported that they are being prompted to undergo an update which apparently was a regular process. Things turned out to be pretty nasty when the McAfee antivirus that was installed in the system suddenly identified “svchost.exe,” a hardcore system file of Windows to be a potential virus. Users were left with the idea that their Windows has got corrupted which followed an annoying session of blue screen deaths and system reboots. The whole process turned out to be a real chaos which left many a working professionals grumbling and upset.
Following the very incident, Joris Evers who happens to be a spokesperson of Mcafee went ahead to issue an email which threw some light on the issue which otherwise had no clear meaning. The email said that the update which asked all users to go ahead and download the latest McAfee antivirus update files turned to be a 5958 virus that has been recorded by theMcAfeeresearch team to have passed their quality testing at 2:00 PM GMT+1.
The McAfee antivirus went ahead to recognize an essential system file of Windows to be a potential virus. However, the research folks at McAfee have gone ahead to extract and filter the particular update causing all troubles from their servers. As a follow up to that, a new update is made available which is a mandate that shall restore the normalcy to the Windows. The affected users can also try a Windows System Restore to bring back their system in shape.
