markSep 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former CEO of Hewlett-Packard Company seemed to have landed himself in another trouble. The former CEO resigned from his post after 5 years as the company found him guilty of filing inaccurate expenses in company’s records. However, last Monday the Oracle Corporation announced that Mark Hurd would join the software giant as its co-president and director of its board. The recent update somewhat shocked the present co-president of Oracle as HP filed a lawsuit against him for breaking confidentiality agreements.

The media reports that the lawsuit was filed in California Superior Court for Santa Clara County. HP’s lawyer said that Mark Hurd’s actions are serious threat to the HP’s business as he might reveal the trade secrets to Oracle and in the process hurt customer relationships with other companies. The lawyer also stated that he might also give Oracle Corporation a strategic advantage as he can give suggestions about allocating resources for the company and in the process exploit the knowledge of HP’s strengths and weaknesses. Mark Hurd did not comment anything about the whole lawsuit to the media.

The reports also claim that Mark Hurd will not be able to work in Oracle Corporation without divulging the details of his previous company. This lawsuit was severely criticized by Larry Ellison and he said that the lawsuit was vindictive as he thought Oracle and HP are partners. However, the CEO said that HP board has acted with utter disregard for that partnership. The CEO has also added that HP is virtually making it impossible to continue to co-operate and work together in the IT marketplace. After Oracle announced that Mark Hurd will join the company, the shares of the company raised by 6%.
