Mac OS X Lion to go on sale from July 20

New York, July 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After a long wait and anticipation, Apple has confirmed that they will release the Mac OS X Lion update, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, on the 20th of July (Wednesday). Apple also announced that they will be releasing an updated version of the MacBook Air notebook.

There are several new features in the new update. According to the British newspaper The Independent, the new Mac OS X will have 250 features that were not found in the previous releases of the operating system. This will be the eighth major release of the operating system.

Apple had in the past announced that they will launch the new Max OS X in July. However the company which is highly noted for keeping things under the radar failed to give any further details.

The website, AppleInsider.com which has inside information of Apple, reported that Apple plans to release the update “as early as Wednesday.” That story was corroborated by another Apple-centric website MacRumors.com.

The website confirmed in a post on the 18th of July that, “Apple Retail stores have begun receiving final copies of OS X Lion today.”

The Independent reports that Mac OS X 10.7 Lion is priced at $29.99. The OS will also be available for download at Appleā€™s Mac Store.
