New York, Feb 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest craze sweeping the Facebook users is urbandictionary.com It defines the slang usages of words, and names that actually mean quite something else. The Urban Dictionary is good for a laugh, as it gives the names its own unique twist, which is rather unexpected. Facebook is also celebrating the Urban Dictionary Week.
Even the users of the dictionary can enter their own meanings of the words into the Urban Dictionary. And needless to say, since the imagination of people is weird, so you can be assured of a good laugh. The website was developed in 1999 by CS major Aaron Peckham at the California Polytechnic State University. The website had the definition of ‘man’ as one of the very first ones, and man is defined as “the head of the establishment put in place to ‘bring us down.’”
The website of Urban Dictionary gives the meanings of slang, as well as very boring and common words. The meanings of the words are quite twisted to say the least, and this is something that is unique to this site. However Urban Dictionary is not all about weird meanings, as some of the meanings are true and real too.
