113094_limera1n Ever since Geohot, the famed iPhone hacker said that he will release the newest jailbreak for unlocking iOS4.1, the iPod Touch and iPhone owners went berserk with excitement. The hacker earlier said that he would quit hacking and deleted his account in Twitter. However, for some reason he changed his view and bounced back with another jailbreak. The jailbreak codenamed LimeRa1n has finally been released a number of sites which are also offering the ways to apply the patch to get access to the core of the iOS4.1. It will not only work for the new iPhone 4 but the owners of previous generation iPhone 3GS, iPad and iPod Touch will benefit from it. The patch is applicable to a lot of Apple devices.

It has been reported that the jailbreak released by Geohot makes use of a separate exploit than SHAtter. The users may still have some issues with the jailbreak but the glitches are likely to be corrected soon. The jailbreak will now work on Windows and the support for Mac and Linux will come later. After installing and applying this patch, the owners of Apple devices would be able to install a huge number of customized and third party software not available in the app store.

Apple has earlier warned that applying the so called jailbreaks can result in the warranty of the device getting terminated. However, still millions of users opt for Jailbreak as it enables to customize their devices as much as they want. Jailbreak, however, should not be confused with SIM unlocking which frees the user from the service of the network provider chosen by Apple.
