Cupertino, Sep 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Everybody was waiting eagerly at the mega music event of technology giant Apple yesterday at San Francisco and it proved to be an eventful evening for all. Steve Jobs the Apple CEO unveiled a plethora of new Apple products and also unveiled the new version of iTunes 10. The new version of Apple’s popular media management and playback software comes with a plethora of new features and a revamped and cool interface. The CEO claimed that with this software music and media playback will become easily accessible and enjoyable for the users. Apart from the facelift and new features the software has got the flavor of Social networking in it. Apple has taken popularity of the social networking seriously and that explains why it has introduced Ping the new social networking service in this software.

Just like in existing social networking sites, the iTunes 10 users will be able to add friends and make an online community of friends. They will also be able to see what the friends are purchasing and listening to. This feature is likely to find many takers. Those who have iPod Touch and iPhone will be able to user this application as Apple has said. Macintosh and Windows users will be able to download iTunes 10 without paying anything and the application runs on both platforms. It also offers TV show and film rentals for the US users!

iTunes 10 has got good reviews but it will have to battle it out with established rivals like Realplayer and WMP12 both of which have millions of satisfied users. The interface however really deserves praise.
