iPhone app for church confessions
February 9th, 2011 - 9:22 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Feb 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Catholics all over the world have been given a new convenient way to confess their sins.
A new iPhone and iPad app called confession app allows people to make their confessions from the comfort of wherever you find yourself. The app was developed by Little iApps. After taking confessions from users, the app imposes penance.
The developers believe that the app provides “a step-by-step guide to the sacrament, inviting Catholics to prayerfully prepare for and participate in the Rite of Penance.”
The application has the approval of some Catholic priests who believe that it correctly enacts what happens during confessions. Bishop Kevin Rhodes of the Diocese of Fort Wayne - South Bendv has granted the app an official endorsement from the Catholic Church called imprimatur.
The creators of the application explained how they were able to get the app just right. They said they worked closely with several priests before they were able to create the app’s examination of conscience.
After the development of the app, the first person the app was tested on was somebody who hasn’t been to the confession box for 20 years now. After testing the app on him, the developers were assured that the app will be a success.
The app could be downloaded from iTunes for $1.99.
