New York, Jan 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bloomberg News has reported that iPhone 5 and iPad 2 could completely change how payments are made.

The news agency reported that Apple will include near-field communication technology into the devices and that will allow financial transactions between several parties. Such a technology will greatly outmode credit cards because it will allow for instant payments right from the devices.

The report has already caused some people to predict that there is an end in sight for credit cards. Credit cards remain the most popular means of transactional payment aside cash payments.

Other competitors to Apple are also considering the near-field communication technology. Google in last fall announced that they will be introducing the technology in their newer versions of Android. However it is Nokia, which has been trying to have the technology in their device for a very long time. The company has been trying to fit the system into the products for about a decade now.

The only challenge though is that the device should be able to run on a wide variety of platforms to get as many merchants as possible to be interested in having it as the mode of payments.
