Jan 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is no doubt that the Apple iPad is a unique device that is changing the way people use the web. Despite the fact that the critics keep cribbing about its flaws, iPad continues to sell in huge numbers and its rivals have a long way to go before they can catch up with it in terms of user base. Whether it will prove to be the nemesis for other portable web access devices remains to be seen but a new study says that it is changing the TV viewing habits of the people. Amazing as it may sound to some people, the iPad users are apparently using the device to access the web and read stuff online mostly during the TV prime time hours. So they are giving the soaps and movies on the small screens a miss these days.

The study has been done by a web service that keeps track of web content use, named ReadItLater. The study claims that the majority of iPad users access web through their tablets between 7 pm to 11 pm which everyone knows is the prime time slot. However, it could also be possible that the users are taking their iPad during the time in the bedroom and watching TV while browsing the web. Nevertheless, the TV channel executives who aim to lure the viewers to their shows should feel worried as the viewers would not give full attention to the TV programs even if they use iPad in the TV room.

Before the advent of Internet and technology in such a massive way, people used to read newspapers or books at such times. Now they are getting addicted to digital reading.
