evoshift_open_qwerty_flat_270x346Jan 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Leading US carrier Sprint Nextel unveiled its latest 4G Smart phone HTC Evo Shift and it is going to hit the stores on Jan 9th 2011. Hopefully it will be shown at the upcoming CES 2011. This is going to be the 4th such smart phone from the stable of Sprint. However, the 4G network in USA is slowly growing and while it is faster than 3G the users will have to wait for some time before they can access Internet at lightning speed using this network. The new HTC Evo Shift 4G is similar to its predecessor, the Evo Shift, but has a number of improvements. The phone is equipped with Android 2.2 Froyo OS and a 5MP camera with HD support. The set also has a slider QWERTY keyboard and a capacitive 3.6 inch Touch screen. The USP of the set is that it can serve as a mobile hot-spot and supports up to 8 devices at a time including notebooks.

Sprint Nextel is offering the model from HTC at $149.99 with a 2 year agreement. The CEO of the company Dan Hesse indicated that Sprint Nextel will unveil a number of technology rich and user friendly 4G phones in 2011. He also said that “these new products exemplify Sprint’s commitment to put industry-leading performance and capabilities in the hands of our customers.” As is the case with all HTC smart phones the Evo Shift is laden with HTC Sense on top of Froyo OS.

The HTC Evo shift 4G is powered by the Qualcomm MSM7630 CPU that runs at 800 MHz. The device also has a solid build quality.
