Redmond, Washington, Sep 22, (THAINDIANS NEWS) Halo is already an established and popular franchise among game lovers. Today, on September 22, Halo 3 OSDT, an expansion pack of the original game has been launched. The launch had been made exclusively on the Xbox 360. This latest release, comes almost 2 years after the launch of the first installment of the series.
It is known by now, that the players are required to assume to the role of the elite United Nations Space Command soldiers, who are otherwise known as the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs). This scenario is common for both Halo 2 and 3. During the course of the game, an alien force known as the Covenant attacks the earth and leave it in shambles. It is up to the players to explore the ruins of the city of New Mombasa and find out what had happened to their missing team mates, who had been separated in the initial run, while entering the city.
The Halo gaming franchise is a creative effort of the Bungie, who had brought about the idea of the ODST extension in order to act as a filler in between the gap that was created after Halo and launch of Halo 3. While in the developing phase, it showed the potential of being made in to a full fledged game, instead of an expansion pack. Thus, Halo 3 ODST came in to existence. With its film noir like settings and diverse characters, Halo should find instant appeal among the game loving masses. The game is most certainly worth spending time as well as bucks on.
