150522-google_logoIt seems that Google is hell bent on beating its competitors in every possible field, as the company announces the possible launch of the “Google Chrome OS”, which is supposed to take place in the second half of next year.

Google, who had been dominating the search engine market for some time have already jumped into the browser market with the launch of Google Chrome. The company announced today that it will release a new operating system which will deal with Google Chrome.

The new operating system, which has aptly been named as Google Chrome OS, will initially work as an open source operating system geared towards net book, Google announced today at a press conference. The company claimed that the new operating system, which will come into effect from the second half of the next year, will be “light weight” and heavily web centric.

With the announcement of the possible launch of Chrome OS, Google plans to follow the same formula it had applied in it’s browser. “Speed, simplicity, and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We are designing the OS to be fast and light weight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds,” announced Google during the press conference. “The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the net,” stated the company.

The company announced that they are specifically laying stress on the security factor related to Chrome. Chrome OS will run on x-86 based PC’s, as well as the machines built around the ARM processor.
